Please Help Save Mojo

My name is David Zarzecki, and Mojo is my cat...

He's 5 years old...

And without surgery, he's going to die...

Mojo has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) which means crystals form in his bladder, and cause blockages which prevent him from urinating. If it's not treated, the toxins will build up in his blood and kill him, or his bladder may burst first, with the same results...

From the onset of a blockage, this can happen in as little as 24 hours...

I'm asking for your help in getting Mojo the treatment he needs, because I am out of options...

I've recently become unemployed, and although I've been managing to make ends meet by scraping by, a bit over a week ago Mojo had to be hospitalized for treatment of his FLUTD, and the vet bills were almost $1000. I managed to beg, borrow, and practically steal the funds for his care, but next time I won't have the resources the vet to treat him...

And he will die...

What Does Saving Mojo Cost?

However, there is a surgical option to treat his condition, called a perineal urethrostomy, which will fix his "plumbing" to deal with the obstructions, and allow him to pass these crystals when they form, instead of them causing a blockage.

The surgery and his medical expenses will be about $1,300.00

Mojo's Care

Mojo is a patient of Dr. Danielle Ambrose, DVM, of the Plains Animal Hospital, and she has worked miracles with his past treatments. However, we've reached the end of the road with medication and diet modifications. These blockages are occurring every 3 months or so, and each time, more damage to his kidneys, urethra, and urinary tract occurs.

This last time, Mojo blocked quickly, and, even though his treatment began within a few hours of noticing the problem, it had already begun to affect his kidneys. Fortunately, a catheter was inserted, the blockage cleared and the urine drained, and he began to recover. On the advice of Dr. Ambrose, it was recommended that Mojo be placed in the intensive care unit, with 24-hour observation, in case his catheter blocked, or he needed other treatment. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford this, and decided to leave him in the regular hospital overnight, where he would be alone until morning. Unfortunately, as Dr. Ambrose warned, his catheter kinked and blocked, his condition worsened, and he required further treatment. Imagine my guilt in denying Mojo the care he needed simply because I couldn't afford the extra fees for the Intensive Care.

How YOU Can Help Save Mojo

Mojo is the sweetest, most loving cat in the world, and he has many years of life ahead of him if he receives this surgery...

If not, his fate is sealed...

All I'm asking is that you donate $1, or whatever you can spare, to help save the life of this beautiful animal, and help him get the treatment he needs...

As soon as the funds are raised, the request for donations will end, and Mojo's surgery and treatment will be scheduled. Any funds in excess of those needed for his treatment will be donated to the SPCA.

For those of you who would prefer to contribute directly to my veterinarian for Mojo's expenses, the address is:

Plains Animal Hospital
242 South River St.
Plains, PA 18705

Please make sure you clearly indicate that your donation is for the care of Mojo Zarzecki, and if you would, send me an email at helpsavemojo@yahoo.com so that we can thank you, and verify with the vet that it was received.

If you can't make a donation, at least keep Mojo in your prayers, and pass the word to your friends by sending them a link to this page, and asking them if they can help. We will update this blog with news about Mojo, extra pictures, and news about his condition, treatment, and recovery.

With my deepest sincerity, thank you for helping...

David and Mojo
